Interview with a helper The person I decided to interview is Mrs. Roene. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida and she is currently working in the role of a Military & Family Life Counseling program (MFLC) with the United States Air Force. The MFLC Program provides short-term, non-medical counseling support for a range of issues including: relationships, crisis intervention, stress management, grief, occupational and other individual and family issues. Psycho-educational presentations focused on issues common to the military family including: reunion/reintegration, stress/coping, grief/loss and deployment are provided to commands, Family Readiness Groups (FRGs), Soldier Readiness Processing and other locations, as requested. Moreover, Ms. Roene practices psychotherapy in her spare time from her duty as a MFLC.

In those ten years she realized that nursing was not too much about healing people, but managing symptoms and curing physical ailments. She encountered many patients who were mentally ill, but nurses were not properly trained on how to deal with patients with mental problems. This led her to start looking around for what may actually help people heal. While studying what to do next, she stumbled upon some scientific research about the brain. After analyzing the data, she came to believe that our minds have about ninety-eight percent control of our bodies and processes. Therefore, choosing a career in the helping profession to heal people from within instead of just physically, was the best option for
