As Social Workers we are supposed to meet clients where they are at in their life. One of the principles of service in National Association of social workers Code of Ethics (2008) is violated simply because they can't and wont help this person. The other principle is that of dignity and worth of the person. If these people valued the client and her wanting to get treatment, they would find a way to work around the other issues she is having. The other part of this that is questionable is why they accepted her in the first place. After doing an assessment, they must have known that she had some mental health issues that would prevent the center from giving her the proper treatment.
