This competency is all about effective (evidence-based), appropriate, and mutually agreed on interventions for clients. Social workers sometimes become careless when choosing intervention. They use the programs or models they are most familiar with, but not necessarily the most effective. This competency reminds social workers to choose interventions wisely and to do their research.
