I did not want to skip school with them, but I was pure pressured into doing so. If I wanted to fit in and keep them as, then I would have to skip school with them. My weakness during this stage was allowing myself to be pure pressured. Nevertheless, I worry about what people thought about me, and I wanted people to like me. Furthermore, I began to skip school with my friends three to four times a week. Thus, I got two suspension, but I continued to hang and skip school with them. Hanging with these girls provided me protection, kept other students from messing with me, and made other students perceive of me as being a tough girl too. In addition, this new perception of me in a tough school made me feel confident and bolder This is an example of operational conditioning. “Operational conditioning is a type of learning in which behaviors are influenced primarily by the consequences that follow them” (pg. 197) Thus, operational conditioning can explain why I continued to hang and skip school with these older girls. I learned that other students would not want to harassed and bullied me. Fortunately, the next year I attended a safer high school, made new friends, and did better in school.

I decided that I did not want to live a life of bitterness and anger. Plus, I have four younger siblings and I wanted to be a strong role model to them. First, I had to change my way of thinking and change how I conceive things. Hence, social learning theory “involves people’s perceptions about different situations and their ability to distinguish between one and another” (Pg.119) Social learning theory can explain how I change my perceptions and my behavior. For example, I start prayer and going to church to learn how on forgive others and inquire peace in my life. I started to connect and make friends with people of different gender, race, and age groups. I also worked on my flaws. For example, I decided not to allow others to peer pressured me anymore, and I stop worrying about what people thought about me. Also, because of my experiences of being racial discriminating against, I decided that I would treat people fairly and not mistreat or discriminate against other people. Subsequently, I decided to go to a community college where I were I received an associated degree.
In all, I believed that assessing the life stages of my life has helped me become more aware of my personal development. I believe that I possess the qualities to help empower and improve the lives of my future clients. I learn that I have ability with thin myself to overcome the difficulties that I experienced
