Additionally, this method is one which I am going to try to ensure I follow in future practice as it allows time for people to think about things and adapt, as opposed to making them feel unprepared and powerless, something social work attempts to eradicate. I do, however, acknowledge that finding the time to dedicate to service users in this way may be challenging with the heavy workload social workers have, yet it is something which I am going to strive to do as I have witnessed the effects if this simple measure is not addressed. Furthermore, I realise that some people will never accept decisions which are not what they want to hear, yet as a social worker I know that I still need to state the verdict, regardless, as I have a duty to allocate limited resources to these considered to be most in need.
Overall, the meeting was beneficial as it helped develop my understanding of how informed is shared between professionals and how they attempt to work together to organise support and achieve the best outcome for the service
