Advanced level social workers must be ready to accept the challenges of better preparing and assisting communities in preparing their youth for success. This is imperative for social work practice. The profession should be determined to work to enhance the opportunities for all children, especially minority groups who have been affected by poverty. Knowing what factors are in place that contribute to the success of children that grow up in poverty in rural areas will help us know what resources and services are most effective in enhancing the future of our youth. As it stands, we know that children in rural areas are facing barriers to equal opportunities in education and other areas. This fact tells us that more needs to be known to assist
