a. Identify three things you learned that you think will be important in any type of social work practice. In the field of social work practice it is imperative to understand the complex transition that immigrants face while adapting to a new and very different culture. As a change in process to a new environment mistrust issues are created particularly undocumented immigrants. They constantly live in fear of deportation. Therefore, as a social worker establishing trust with the clients is critical. During the period of migration immigrants are also subjective to discrimination and prejudice. In the social work practice it’s vital for a social worker to be aware of the client’s family background culture as well as their experience and challenges.
