Teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are two social problems that are of the greatest concern to me. As a child protective investigator, I had to challenging decisions involving minors. There were times where I have to decide whether to keep a child with their parents or to place them in foster care. It was important to develop rapport with children and their parents, so that I can assist with the child’s vulnerability and to assess the protective factors within the child’s family.
