Social Work Future Plan

Immediately following graduation, I plan to continue my education in Social Work by going graduate school. I have already applied for the University of Maryland School of Social Work along with Morgan State University, both located in Baltimore. The Maryland school of Social Work is my first preference because I believe this school will provide me with a new, diverse environment and pave the way for tremendous growth and development. Also, I am choosing to obtain my MSW in Baltimore for two reasons. First, making this move will enable me to gain access to bigger opportunities than those that are available in Delaware. Second, Baltimore is the only location that is not too far, but not too close from my immediate family (Maryland Eastern Shore) with MSW programs. Last but not least, upon entering the MSW program I plan to transfer my part-time job (Target) over to Baltimore, because I have no choice but to support myself. By this time, I hope to have accomplished almost everything that I pray for ranging from owning my own home, driving a stylish car, and beginning my own family. At 32, I should definitely have my Social Work license, and I will still be engaging in Social Work practice. However, by this time, I hope to expand my Social Work career experience by working in a different setting (perhaps, marriage counseling or something). I should be very well, financially, and I plan to have had at least one child by this point. This is also around the age in which I would like to get married (if not already) and have another child. At this point, I will have my mind made up as to whether or not I will be moving to the south, staying planted in Maryland, or moving elsewhere. In the end, I will have accomplished reaching my highest desired level of schooling. I will be a LCSW, seeking such positions, living comfortably with my newly developed
