Life Experience, Education, and Volunteer Experience
Life Experience All throughout my childhood, I watched forms of physical, alcohol and drug abuse. Whenever I think about my childhood, these memories are what I flash back to almost 90 percent of the time. At the time, I did not understand. As a social worker, I believe one should also be culturally competent and socially diverse. As part of being a social worker, it is important to be considerate and knowledgeable of the environmental forces that create, contribute to, and address problems in daily living situations. As a social worker, I believe it is important to do research, be knowledgeable in the field, and of the clients that you are working with. I also believe that if one understands the different cultures and understands social diversity, a social worker will be able to better advocate for their
