Bruce currently faces various issues in his life. The biggest problem he has is the lack of emotional and financial support. Since his parents passed away and his siblings are not as helpful as needed, he may feel lost and struggle to find a sense of belonging. As he now has limited financial resources, he is unable to maintain his somewhat ‘expensive’ hobbies with his friends and that makes him even more isolated. Moreover, without any support and planning, retirement can cause him to become lazy and unmotivated (Bigby, Wilson, Balandin & Stancliffe, 2011). The absence of TTR will result in Bruce suddenly gets cut off from work- the only place where he can socialise and feel like he has a purpose in life. It is also beneficial to encourage him to find some healthy hobbies that align with his current co-workers’ so that they can share things other than work-related activities once they no longer work together. In addition, it is essential to make sure his siblings are fully aware of his health conditions and circumstances and get them more involved in being responsible for their brother’s future planning.
