Sandy married at the age of nineteen which back than that normal and expected for most. They bought a house together in Royal Oak, Michigan and a few years later bought a home in Warren, Michigan where her family lived for the next fourteen years. After marrying her husband they became pregnant with their first daughter and quickly had two more after that. Sandy’s family and friends were thrilled about these decisions in her life because that was the norm. After starting her family sandy decided to attend college to pursue a career in Social Work, Sandy explained that back than it wasn’t typical for most to attend college.
