When feeling well, John’s personality is joyous and engaging. Currently, he exhibits broad distrust and apprehension towards others. John is often reactive and slow to qualm hostile feelings when he perceives that he is being attacked, demeaned, or wronged. He has received numerous reprimands in employment and education settings for inappropriate, explosive anger. This pattern of behavior contributes to John’s vocational and academic stress. With regard to employment, he received suspensions and/or abruptly ended jobs following altercations. Similarly, John faced suspension and expulsion from college.
