In the article “A Social Stories ™ intervention package for students with autism in inclusive classroom settings,” Jeffrey M. Chan and Mark F. O’Reilly examined the communication behaviors of students with autism included in the general education classroom who received the Social Stories intervention.
Prior to implementing the intervention, specific targeted behaviors were identified for the participants in the study. The chosen participants exhibited deficits in their social interactions.
The instructor who executed the intervention met with the students separately. The selected Social Stories explicitly addressed the specific targeted behaviors of the participants. During each training session, a story was presented to the participants that
