The value of status honor in this still rather new and somewhat nebulous community built on social media is the fact that people have used social media like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc, to "boost" up their social status and used these easy route to successes even though they weren 't born with a high social class. But still gain the status through the use of the social media according to through their actions to gain popularity or be "known" to the users who uses social media. Status honor plays a role, for example, people on YouTube form a group in order to help each other, they become "Youtubers" and help each other out, and make the audience know everyone in the YouTube World.

The extent that the market situation and the business/industrial complex influence, manipulate and/or benefit from its involvement in this social media community is through the use Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. Since social media is used by mostly everyone no matter the age, the businesses have come to an agreement or accepted the fact that the only way to communicate or interact with their customers is by getting involved with them using social media.
For instance, Oreo is a product well known by many people and the people in charge of making Oreos have come to an understanding that people, especially teens are always on their social media checking new things. Therefore, the company Oreo has an account on Facebook that asks the public what they think about a certain Oreo and if they liked it. When people are watching YouTube videos, there is always an advertisement for a certain product, which comes to the idea of how they are manipulating and using these ways to show their product to the public.
This can benefit company 's from its involvement in this social media community because they are putting their product in front of the public and it can make them interested in their products. Another way it can benefit the company is that when people like a certain or product or thinks it 's "cool" they spread the word and more people get to know about the product, to finally buy the product making the company achieve their goal that was meant in the beginning.
Not only are they using the social media to expose their product but the people on YouTube or "YouTubers" are also advertising the products on their video to make the viewers believe that their "idol" are using this product, that way it makes them be manipulated into buying that
