Many elderly people have worked their entire lives to provide for themselves and their loved ones and they should not have to struggle to pay bills and for everyday needs. After decades of hard work they deserve the chance to relax and enjoy their family. I think there are many issues with Social Security and what benefits are available in the United States. People are usually given the bare minimum to survive, but all living expenses aren’t taken into account. If you are unable to work and there is an emergency such as a natural disaster that causes property damage the repair costs might be too high to pay. I also feel like many politicians and citizens view people who receive Social Security benefits as burdens and that makes them less likely to strive and vote for better benefits.
Overall, I feel like Social Security is a good thing for Americans. It provides many things for benefits for people who cannot get them for themselves. While these benefits are truly helpful, in most cases I don’t feel like they are enough. That’s why I not only think Social Security should continue to be funded, I think the funding should
