Since Social Security lands in the realm of politics, it will be hard to change, primarily because it is so popular with America’s older generation, and that older generation makes up a large part of the voting population (i.e. upset this group of people and it is likely you will not get votes come next election). However, Social Security does need change for reasons I have stated above, and if it does not get the change it needs, the repercussions could negatively affect retirees, disabled persons, and the current and future working class. We should stop taking for granted something so vital to Americans. Twenty years seems far in the future, especially to the proverbial millennials, but this will not be said when they have a projected twenty years to live and want to retire at sixty-five. The millennial generation, the generation I am a part of, is the future of this country, so we should take charge and make sure the future of Social Security is a good
