It is a fundamental human experience to long for interpersonal intimacy. Longing for interpersonal intimacy stays with all of us throughout life, starting from infancy (Fromm-Reichmann, 1959). Human phenomena evolve around interaction with others. People are influenced by the real or imagined interpersonal relationship and how others respond to them. It appears that Maria has had difficulty with fully comprehending the situation. A cognitive pattern that leads individuals to deviate from a rational judgment is called cognitive bias (Galotti, 2013). Comprehension of ourselves and the environment we find ourselves in are products of our cognitive inputs and unconsciousness. The manner in which humans experience the world is different from the raw input information (Baars, 1997). The way the brain fills the gaps between the inputs suggests how we experience the world is greatly influenced by our individual past and present experiences (see Baars, 1997; Galotti; 2013). This tendency may help us understand some of the therapy clients’ experience and relationship with the world. Comprehension of ourselves and the environment we find ourselves in are products of our cognitive inputs and unconsciousness. The unconscious process helps us to experience the world as constant (Baar, 1997). We can also rather easily attend to one task or stimuli over another (Galotti, 2013). At the same time, its implications in the clinical setting provide us a deeper understanding of how we interact with the environment and its meaning. A better understanding of human cognitive tendency and function would help the clinicians to better assist the clients experiencing difficulties. However, due to her seizer episode, determination must be made very carefully as some medications can cause seizer as a side effect (Ingersoll & Rak, 2016). Consulting with referring physician can help assessing appropriateness of a medication evaluation for Maria. If I determined it is appropriate, I will discuss my recommendation with her. I will be interested in her reaction to my recommendation. I will listen to her thoughts and feelings about taking psychotropic medication. Through the dialogue, I hope to reach a mutual understanding with her regarding medication as well as treatment direction in general. Moreover, I would address her concern about me consulting with her doctor. As I ask her permission to coordinate care with her doctor, I would note that such consultation would help me understand her situation better. I would assure her that the consultation is not intended to conspire against
