Social Problem: Mass Shooting One of the problem that has been occurring in the 21st century was the increase of the mass shooting that has been occurring worldwide. This is known to be one of the major social
problem that the world is currently facing right now. This social problem gave many people an
insight of the hatred that has been occurring in the world. This social problem is linked to many
of the suffering and pain that majority of the world is still facing. To solve the problem many
activists took to the street of their problems and protest through the use of speech, sit ins, and

“Mr. Mateen had a chilling history that included talking about killing people,
beating his former wife and voicing hatred of minorities, gays and Jews; most of his victims
were gay, Latino, or both.” (Alvarez, Perez-Pena, and Hauser, 2013).This puts into question of
why is the person who clearly has a mental problem and has a deep hatred toward in his heart
is even allowed to purchase an armed weapons knowing full well that they have a serious problem going on inside their head.
The cause of the problem of mass shooting is often caused by the hatred that the group or
individual has toward different groups of people. This can tie into the discrimination because
those who has known to have a deep hatred of a particular will show their hatred in a way that
is very bad and immoral. “Domestic violence figured strongly: In 57 percent of the cases, the
victims included a current or former intimate partner or family member of the attacker. Half of
all victims were women.” (La Franiere, Cohen, Oppel Jr., 2015). This is a major problem in
the United States of America because domestic violence is still very common, even though

So, it is important to know that
there should be a strict policy to prevent torment of student that way a little incident does not
turn into a fatal shooting. That is the reason why many notable activists took action to spread many form of
message about the importance of peace and prevent mass shooting. Many used social media to
spread message to young generation who looks at that than other media like the news. In the
social media activist would end up posting the cause of mass shooting and pain it brings to
many people living in the same area. Although, for now it has a small impact in the short term it
will have a major impact on the long term when the message is passed on to everyone and to
the next generation, it will develop that mindset that we should stop mass shooting. An activist
would also try to post the peace that they want the future generation a life that is not filled
with hatred and violence.
