Race is defined as a group of people with common inherited traits that distinguish them from other people. (Mysiteries)After asking four of my friends how many races they believed there were I was quite astonished with the answers. When you grow up and you hear the song “Jesus loves the little Children,” in the song it goes “Red, Yellow, black, and white”. This is the base for Race I think, there is obviously so much more than this but you have seven main continents where people are from. Seven places where a person’s linage was formed. (Human Biological Diversity) Most anthropologists believe there are 3 or 4 basic races of man in existence today. These races can be further subdivided into as many as 30 subgroups. (Mysteries)

Positions in society play a ginormous role in the way the society works. You have many different roles involved. You have your priest as they used as an example, there are teachers, law makers, law enforcers, and many others that are elements in the web of society. There are more than just occupational positions, there is a position in race. One that should not be there. Race has been one of the largest issues in the world for a long time. I also do not think this problem will be resolved any times soon. People will never be pleased. Race can play many roles in how a society functions. There are many different ways race can play into a social position. You can have a job interview, for a high position in an office. You would have a white man and African American man both go to an interview. The African American man has all of the best standards in everything. The best schooling, he has had experience in this field. The white man has had minimal experience and got a degree at an okay school. The white man was chosen over the Africa American man JUST because the person holding the interview was racist. This type of behavior and way of thinking can ruin the way a society build and
