Social Playing Field Analysis

In sociology, one’s playing field is a gathering of all social field situations an individual is born into including family, gender, social class, education, race, and religion. Every person has a different gathering of important social fields and each of these fields have an influence on an individual's possibilities and their level of competition required to reach success and meet goals in their life. Obstacles and privileges are present in each field leading to either helping a person reach an objective more easily or placting a complication they must overcome in the way of reaching that objective. Another minute drawback is my social class, being in the lower middle class makes it a bit more difficult to obtain the same fortune and resources other classes are typically just handed. With that said, family, gender, and social class are my three key influencers of my destiny in life and the field of which I get to play on. The social playing field of Family refers to a socially recognized group that is related and the impact my family bonds, daily interactions, and history has had on my daily life and mental stability. Families have a large role in the functionalism of society. Families are good and functional for society and help maintain a healthy society. The government wants society to be full of married couples with children and health insurance who enforce that their children take less risks. I had to help take care of my father and help my mother deal with his behavior which has made me grow up faster as well. This brought my mother and I a lot closer. My mother and I have a very special bond and I can tell her absolutely anything. She has made it very clear that I can talk to her about anything and has created a comfortable environment for me. This is very important for our bond and my mental stability knowing I have someone I can always talk to. In the aspect of sex education, my mother and I are open to talking to each other about everything and have great communication and trust in one another.
