The failures and weaknesses associated with cognitive behavioral therapy and the Monoamine-oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressants form the basis for the consideration of other methods for the treatment of social phobias and anxiety. One of the most important things about video games is that they can be designed to meet the needs of teens who are depressed and through the interactive video games. One of the video games that allows patients to virtually interact with characters that are depressed is Depression Quest. The videogame allows the player to learn about other people that have suffered from mental disorders and in the process earning how to deal with the mental problem. The game helps the patient in explaining better what they are suffering from and in the process they are also able to learn from other how best to deal with the problem of social phobias, anxiety, stress, and associated depression.
