Social Order Theory

Conflict theory is that social classes consist of the wealthy and powerful versus the poor and powerless. The people that are wealthy and powerful try to control the rest of the social order by running the poor and powerless in the process. While order theory is when there is a state of equilibrium between the wealthy and the poor social classes showing social order. The order theory is not based on things such as power, class, gender, or race. It is based more on the equilibrium and the roles of tradition in families for less of a conflict effect.

Critical thinking can be done by showing empathy for others issues and be critically conscious of the troubles that need to be addressed.

For example, Poverty can cause people to unintentionally consume fatty foods due to the lack of money and resources provided to those who need it. People in poverty do not have money to buy healthier foods to consume; therefore, some end up being obese from all the cheaper unhealthy food they can afford. The consumption on unhealthy foods is not something that people in poverty want to do, but they do not have better options provided to them. If people in poverty are provided with healthier foods for a cheaper price, there would be a better chance that they would consume that instead.
Consciousness Raising which is to be aware or raising awareness to subject a change through interpersonal and political to show surrounding power. This will allow a gain of resources in order to start the change in both personal level and political level together rather than alone which will then be the Act of empowerment to change the world.
