In the article tittle “How Social Networks Drive Black Unemployment” by Nancy DiTomaso, she discusses the concept of social network. She further explains how African- Americans are affected by the concept of social network. In general, she acknowledges the fact there is discrimination in the work place against minorities. In the article titled “Differences and Inequalities”, I like how the author connects back to the history of the United States in relation to the enslaved people and their masters. White people had the mentally of black people being inferior. Therefore, African-Americans did not deserve any kind of better treatments. This could physical appearance, background information or simple by the names. It seem like they are avoiding or afraid to approach the unknown and because of this mentally. As a result, people who are outside of those networks will not have the chance to prove what they are capable of doing.
