One of the sensational social issues on media is about the negative global impacts of the spread of social communication on the Internet. These sites were established to tie the individual to each other and create a strong solidarity among members, however, are creating an egoistic society. The way people using the social network, and the way it affects society are over control and unpredictable.

In spite of the benefit of the invention of the technological socializing, Ph.D. Marilyn Price-Mitchell notes: “The way teenagers abuse them and turn them into mini social control rooms is frankly awful” (Price-Mitchell 1). For instance, in some families, especially in developed nations, members would prefer to text messages to each other instead of spending several minutes having “face-to-face and voice-to-voice communication” (Tardanico 2). Furthermore, on public transportation, passengers focus deeply on the tasks at hand and rarely share friendly smiles. By extension, when being in a public area, in other words, being surrounded by strangers, people have a tendency to keep their fingers busy in order to prove that they are not alone. They surf the Internet, pretend to text or actually texting as this action may make them feel connected and fulfill the belonging stage, which is based on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Eventually, social media are attracting users to build an imaginary life and ignore people and offline relationships around them.
