It has become a lot easier for people, especially the youth, to become involved in their counties politics. They are able to use Twitter and Facebook to follow candidates or to keep up with current events at the touch of a button. With more people being involved in politics, it has also increased voter participation. Voters are able to check websites and see when rallies are or when speaking engagements are listed. They are able to see these things and they are able to see them as the happen so they do not miss anything. With so many people having so much information readily available to them, it is quick and easy to organize people. You want to have a demonstration on Main Street? No problem. Put it on your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages and you will have given hundreds or thousands of people that message with one click. I have seen where people have posted that they were going on vacation for a few weeks and when they get back their homes are cleaned out. Criminals are using these sites as a way to stake out future jobs. It also makes it easy for stalks and pedophiles to gain access to their victims. You can be whoever you want on social media, so it is a lot easier than you might think to turn into a completely different person. Besides letting criminals into your life, social media can also affect your professional and educational life. Imagine you are on a weekend trip with your best friends, living it up, drinking just having a good time. You post all of your pictures to show everyone how much fun you had. Now imagine you go in for an interview and you nail it, you just know you are getting that job you have always wanted. Your possible employer checks everything, including your social media sites and decides that you just are not the right person for the job after looking at your pictures and posts.
