Social media advertising means using social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest to achieve online circulation and generate brand awareness. Keep in mind, social media advertising can have many different methods depending on the social network(s) being used, but it normally includes photos, videos, links to a company 's homepage and posts describing promotions that a business may have. In addition, social media helps companies find potential clients by using consumers own public information to detect interest. Therefore, rather pursuing users who search a particular term, social media targets users before they even launch their search.
Because social networks generate such a massive amount of user information, social media is able to pinpoint users in a variety of methods versus other online sites. Therefore, stretching beyond the overall demographic and physical companies. In addition, social media has opened the door to an unfathomable awareness for social and connection-based targeting methods. For that reason, some of the top companies that do an excellent job in advertising and targeting users on social media websites consist of: Samsung, Microsoft, AT&T, Amazon, Walmart, Coca-Cola, Ebay, and Ford. In addition, there are some companies which are missing the mark in my opinion, such as: Motorola, Sprint, and skittles.
