Everyone has a culture and often people feel proud of their culture and where they’re from. However sometimes, people 's perception on certain cultures can be affected. There have been many cultural and social movements that have trended on social media, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. #LoveWins was one of the top 10 viral hashtags of 2015. It was a social movement that started on June 26th, 2015, when the United States became the 21st country to legalize same sex marriage nationwide. Even though same sex marriage is now legalized, severals are still fighting against this. There have been many arguments and debates on social media regarding same sex marriage, with some being “pro-gay marriage” and others being “anti-gay marriage”.

According to Talkwalker, a social data intelligence company, within the first hour of the Supreme Court’s decision, the #lovewins hashtag received 284,730 mentions, and 60,727 unique tweets, the #SCOTUSMarriage hashtag saw 88,872 mentions, and 20,375 unique tweets, and the #MarriageEquality hashtag saw 63,968 mentions, 63,968 unique tweets. Among these tweets tracked by Talkwalker, 59.4 percent came from women and 40.6 percent came from men.
