Social media sites, such as Facebook and Instagram, are very commonly used amongst children and adolescents. Although these sites promote socialization, communication, and learning opportunities excessive use also results in reduced productivity, reduced psychological well-being, and bullying. Due to these negative effects that cause a toll on both cognitive and emotional well-being individuals shouldn’t be introduced to these sites at a very young age. Social media sites reduce productivity, which may negatively impact learning. Individuals who use social media to enhance their learning opportunities may actually end up getting distracted from the work that they need to complete, this explains why many schools block access to social media
