Charlie Brooker’s “Black Mirror” indicates how technology runs our lives daily and how much impact it has on us as people. Nosedive is an episode where a woman named Lacie is so dedicated to get her social media score up that it turns her life from right side up to down in a matter of 24 hrs. Lacie at this time is in a bind to get her social media score higher to get a new home, a new job and to socialize with better people. She tries everything until she gets invited to her higher social class friend’s wedding. She persistently gave people good reviews, but doesn’t understand that’s not how your social media score goes up. It wasn’t till the end when she decided she didn’t care anymore. When looking at the social media score it is similar to how credits score operate in the modern world. In today society we need to have good credit scores to get new houses, social class and seeming some jobs will look at your credit score as well. The first one is Lacie who is working on getting her social score to a 4.3 and better; well on the other hand her brother holds 3.5 and below and doesn’t care that his social score is that low. At the time of meeting these two characters are living under the same roof. Lacie and her brother have a big fight over why social scores are so important, which cause them to be mad at each other. Lacie final stated to her brother she was embarrassed by his score and that she wants to do better.
