Is social media ruining our lives and society. Should you limit yourself from your cellphone to outside to hang out with friends or family that your texting over the phone. Kerry Coppinger argues that Snapchat is ruining our lives and we’re to blame. Social is great for society because if you and your friend or family live in another state or country you can keep it touch with them through social media. Although that’s does sound nice but it causes people to stay inside or stay on the phone all the time this causes a unhealthy lifestyle. Not spending time in the real world with those people you are contacting on social media. But social media has its good side aswell. So why are we on our phones 24/7 well there ares apps called Instagram, Snapchat , Twitter , and even facebook aswell. Theses apps help you connect with friends and family while you are at home or not with them at that moment. As Nicole Ellison states “The social network such as Facebook have made us a better society because as better individuals we connect more diverse populations “. You have people who tend to ruin fun on social media sites. People who take it a step too far and stalk that person in person which leads to other serious issues. Social networking can lead to stress and relationships which is pretty petty drama taking place over these sites like snapchat and instagrsm. Social networking could spread false information such as Wikipedia. Wikipedia can spread false information to people. Most sites lack privacy of your account anyone can hack into it and do some pretty bad things onto your account such as buying items , harass people , and spread untrue statements about you.
