How social media has revolutionised HR?

Social media is very much a part of our lives whether or not we realise it. It is apparent that it has revolutionised Human Resources (HR) in various ways and will only continue to grow and improve it. The digital age that we live in has revolutionised our thinking in the 21st century to make life easier as many would simply put it, if the technology is available why not use it? This has allowed organisations to mainly thrive on utilising social media to attract talent for their business, rather than using its main use socially. This however does not mean companies cannot use its social functions too in order to create a connection between employer and employee or potential recruiters.

How social media has changed HR
There are a variety of ways that can be identified as to how social media has affected HR for the better. Firstly the way people are recruited has changed, because recruiters no longer have to wait for CVs to arrive to them, mainly through a newspaper ad or corporate website. Recruiters now have the option of actively searching for potential candidates without them even knowing. Recruiters may dig out information about different people and see if they would be a suitable fit for them,

There are a variety of recruitment and job search tools that have been designed for this mobile-friendly, popular network. Twitter is also not familiar a social site recruiters, therefore meaning Facebook and Linkedin have a clear advantage when it comes for job openings. Twitter however is a great site where recruiters tend to post a lot of statistic based tweets as well as information, allowing Twitter in that sense to deliver a real sense professional purpose compared to say on how some may use a Facebook profile
