Obama, in particular, was successful in fundraising through the internet in the 2008 campaign, because he took full advantage of social media.
b. Most of the money that he raised came in from small payments of $50 or less from almost four million individual donors. This added up to a total of $750 million to benefit his campaign.
c. Looking at Hillary Clinton, she did not focus on the Internet to fundraise for her campaign and fell behind Obama.
d. She relied predominantly on the traditional large donors who are restricted by law that they cannot donate more than $2,300 per election cycle. Since Obama received small donations from far more supporters, he did not max out his sources, like Clinton.
