In the article ´´Teenage Social Media Butterflies May Not Be Such a Bad Idea´´, Melissa Healy, explains the effect of social media on adolescents. She explores the good and the bad. I believe social media is harmful for kids and teens because it interrupts their education also kids get no sleep because they're on there phones a whole lot. Kids spent seven in one half hours a day of their phones they spent hours on their phones than in school. Kids don't do their homework because their either on social media or texting friends. Kids don't get time to spend with their family because their on social media a whole lot.
I have observed that electronics interrupt kids educations. I experienced this when i go to school because kids aren't doing what the professor is telling them to do they are to do.Instead they are messing around chatting on their computer or playing online games. Also when

¨According to The Kaiser foundation they reported that for more than 7 ½ hours a day American children ages 8 to 18 are tethered to computers and cell phones¨. That is more time than they spend at school because school is only 6 hours they spend a whole lot on their phones. I have seen this in my class teens don't get enough sleep they're getting really sleepy while the professor is talking.
From my point of view i see this as kids not getting time to spend with their family because there chatting a lot and because according to social media butterflies the ultimate tool kids have is chatting with friends by email , texting and sexting which means texting inappropriate stuff which is really bad because instead of them spending time with their family there sexting. which is a bad tool for kids.
In conclusion my analysis of social media networking leads me to conclude that social media harms children and teens in school and outside of school because kids are constantly on their phones or
