Thirty younger adults were selected to complete my questionnaire. The ages were from 18-25 years of age. All of them were different races, different gender, and they were all from my location. The people who were selected was my friends, and the other were from social media. The reason why I choose different ages was because I wanted to see different opinions and input on this project.
Instrument:
In this research a questionnaire was administered to collect data; which was the standard survey collection method. It included seven multiple choice questions associated with social media. Thirty people participated in the survey, the survey was created on Google forms. I sent my thirty participants an email with the survey as an attachment. Seventy percent of my sample reported they use 3-4 social media sites, while 19.4% use 4-5 social media sites, and only 9.7% use 0-1 social media sites. Forty-eight point four percent admitted they spent 4-6 hours a day on social media, 29% spent 0-3 hours, and only 22.6% spent more than 7 hours. Eighty-seven point one percent reported social media is important because it shows the news and current information occurring in the world, while 12.9 percent disagreed while stating social media doesn’t contain any important information. People admitting to being grateful for social media were 77.4%, while 22.6 disagreed while stating they don’t need social media. Eighty percent of my sample revealed social media make them feel confident, while 20% makes them feel depressed.
