Cox writes about how she feels excitement for Jenner for being who she truly is and coming out to the world and opening herself up to judgment by others. In the documentary the women tell their stories and how they were treated by others and how it differs from person to person. Jenner is more commonly known and does not receive the same treatment as a transgender from a local town might. Saying that, that does not mean Jenner has an easier life she is bashed for being herself just like the local kid just the severity of that treatment differs. In Baby X the child is treated differently for not conforming to the binary system of gender identification. Baby X does not receive too much bashing for playing with both genders toys as Jenner and the women in the movie do because after all Baby X is only a few years old, but the child still receives negative comments and hurtful remarks for not identifying as a female or male. We need to learn to better understand people who do not conform and fit the norms in society instead of attacking them for who they are. Imagine living in a world where one cannot be themselves because others fear their differences and how that will affect them, that is what it is like to live in society
