Social media has a huge impact on today’s society. Sponsors and sports teams are working together so fans will be able to come together through social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. These three would help to bring the fans together by watching sports through social media. This would help the franchise to be able to grow. Not only would the franchise be able to grow, but also sports fans can come together through social media. Social media would be able to help the fans feel that they are involved with the team. For instance, the fans would be able to get behind the scenes of the franchise. The fans would be able to be involved with the team because it also helps the team to grow and be successful. The Memphis Redbirds can use Instagram to share player’s photos and their interviews through the account. According to E. Moreau from What is Instagram? “Instagram is a social networking app made for sharing photos and videos from a smartphone". The Memphis Redbirds would be able to share their photos and videos from any piece of technology while using Instagram.
The users would be able to use @ Memphis Redbirds to be able to interact with others fans. Not only would they interact with fans, but it would also post games stats, tickets prices/sales, merchandise of the team, and contests.
The Memphis Redbirds would also be able to use Facebook as a online social media campaign. The Facebook slogan is to "be connected". The Memphis Redbirds would be able to be connected with fans across the Mid-South. Facebook users would be able to share their thoughts on the game and the player’s performances. The Memphis Redbirds would have their own page called "The Memphis Redbirds," where users would be able to tag others.
Using these two social media websites would enable interaction with one another. All the Instagram users would be able to like a post that the team has posted. The users would be able to comment on different accounts. This would not only help the Memphis Redbirds to grow but also help Instagram and Facebook
