Social media applications, such as Instagram and Twitter, can be a saving grace for an organization, while providing the tools it needs to grow. While most features are on a level playing field, because of the ability to show a story in a quick and effective way, Instagram proves to be a superior application. Instagram’s demographics include a broader age group. On the other hand, Twitter resides to a narrower age range. For story sharing purposes, Instagram offers unlimited photos and videos. While Twitter bids features such as real-time engagement. In term of hindrances, Instagram require a certain knack for visual content, that not all users will have. This enables an organization the ability to keep a close relationship with its customers, in return developing a loyal customer base. This loyalty will increase the chance of reoccurring clients in a non-profits service. With trending topics, a nonprofits content will be available to twitter users other than the holder’s followers. Creating a “hash tag” gives the opportunity to attract attention to your services or events you may be having. Although the hash tag may not trend, other hash tags may be grasped onto to discuss your own services.
While Instagram offers many beneficial features, it also comes with a few hindrances. Though Instagram focuses on a younger age group, many users may be older and less tech savvy. Instagram’s limitless features, and ability to use visual content makes it not only more appealing, but also utilizing for a non-profit organization.
