One of the rapidly changing aspects of the youth in today’s and tomorrow’s society is the outlook on diversity. With more diverse students comes more diverse backgrounds and practices. With the use of social media, it is easier to connect with families in other countries, and can be used as a teaching tool on learning how to respect and educate on foreign societies. In “Human Diversity in Education: An Intercultural Approach”, “There has been a corresponding increase in the outmarriage rate, or intermarriage between individuals from different ethnic or religious groups in recent years, a rate that has nearly doubled from 6.7% in 1980 to 14.6% in 2008 (Cushner, McClelland, Safford 2012, 15). Students are coming from backgrounds that will most likely include another half of family in another country or that has influenced a mixing of traditions and social norms.
