Health care workers (HCW) can be easily disturbed by Social media (Piscotty et al., 2013, para. 3). For example, during medication administration if a nurse receive a text message through Social media at that moment her attention is distracted and she can more likely make a mistake (Piscotty et al., 2013, para. 3). For this reason, nurses can cause unintentionally a serious harm or death to their patients (Piscotty et al., 2013, para. 3).
Moreover, there are other real life examples how nurses can cause harm by misusing Social media (Suby, 2013, p. 143). An incident occurred in a Wisconsin Hospital where nurses breached confidentiality of the patient by taking photos about medical documents (Suby, 2013, p. 143).
