While researching texts and current events about our world, I found an interesting trend in today’s culture. There is an outbreak of misinformation throughout our society. Left and right there are different interpretations of the same information, minor or major details missing or being added. Also, at the top of social media there is an ongoing battle of what people feel and what they really mean. The number of incidents that are communicated in different façades and motives to spew people’s emotions are outrageous. The media is no longer a news outlet, it is an extra filter of the truth that is presented to you in a way that modifies your opinion. The concept of honesty has taken a new meaning. People operate under a fascination of telling what is best (Caprinno). What is the best way to get what I want? This ridicule is by design and practiced thoroughly in all phases of life. For example, if someone gives you a flyer guaranteeing an expensive item for absolutely free will your first reaction be to believe it? Of course you will believe it after reading the fine print and realizing what you actually have to do to get the item for free! The free is advertised for attention grabbing, so the customer responds to what the seller wants them to do. Which is to buy, receive, and investigate their product. So honestly, would the company benefit from just telling people the full price? No, because telling customers it 's free at first gives a positive reinforcement which enables someone to act faster. This manipulation is all over. In other factors of business, trade negotiations, and everyday interactions people bend, over exaggerate and leave out the truth (Caprinno). People want what they want and do whatever they need to get by. This manipulation of the truth still exist because people seek advantages over an opponent. For example, if person A is bending the truth, person C and person D will do the same all to beat out person B.
