Throughout social media it seems as if pictures are being whitewashed, I see white women being praised for feature that are either enhanced or photo shopped, while women of color are being brought down or made fun of for being born with these features. Social media basically it making a statement saying if a woman isn’t white she isn’t beautiful or if she is a woman of color she must be of mixed culture or lighter skin to have value. Women of color should not have to feel that they no self-worth because of the color of their skin, their features are unique and should be praised but social media is making hard to show appreciation. This hashtag creates an issue within our society, it divides by what we look like, and for women our appearance defines who we are. This also helps society realize that European beauty standards are not the definition of what a beautiful women should be.
