This research looks into K-pop as a popular subculture among adolescents and young adults globally, resulting in widespread responsiveness to the fashion and trends of Korean idols. Ultimately, it will discuss how this subculture gives rise of another trend – cosmetic surgery.
Firstly, the rise of K-pop was not accidental. SK’s government has invested millions of dollars in order to form a Ministry of Culture with a specialized department devoted to K-pop . This is in order to build their soft power and cultural influence internationally. Indeed, they have succeeded.
