Communication is an important tool in our everyday lives. Without communication a person cannot explain or express what they need to know or what their feelings are. Furthermore, communication is a daily routine that keeps us together. It can be used in good and bad ways. When used the correct way, technology and social media can enhance our communications and relationships. We can use social media to maintain long-distance relationships with friends and loved ones. We can use social media to express ourselves more. We should not let our technology distract us from socializing in the real world.
While Sherry Turkle emphases the negative impact of social media in her article, there are some good impacts too. For example, technology can help with enhancing long-distant relationships and friendships. It is not like the old days anymore when people used to send messages in envelopes or make an international calls which costs a lot of money to talk

With the existence of social media those kind people begin to overcome their obstacles in speaking publicly or to say what they feel about. The social media can be considered in this case as a mock social-therapist for shy people and a place where they can practice overcoming their obstacles. For example, one of my friends has an anonymous Twitter account that she uses to express her ideas, thoughts, feelings and comments just to overcome her shy personality. This tells us that the social media are literally helping us to have a better social life, but it depends on how we use this technology, as everything has its own bad and good side. Therefore, we cannot judge and say that the social media is ruining our social life, while it helps people to have a better
