The Boston Celtics are currently ranked as the number 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. Made up of a roster of veterans, rookies, and bonafide superstar in point guard Kyrie Irving, they are expected to make a deep playoff run this year with the NBA Finals in their vision. In addition, with being highly successful on the court, the Celtics organization has made their presence known on social media platforms. With a following of 2.4 million on Instagram, and 3.19 million on Twitter, the Celtics are considered as one of the most successful organizations on social media. They have been able to use their history, player accomplishments, promotions, charity, stats, etc. within these platforms for quality consumer engagement.

This post had many layers; Although Hayward is going through a season ending injury, he still makes time out of his schedule to connect with the kids of Timilty middle. The Celtics have donated money to help renovate a basketball court to help with youth recreational activities. Finally, the impact this has on these student’s lives will affect them in a positive way for the rest of their lives. It is understood, there will always be internet trolls, however the Celtics could engage with followers by retweeting, responding, and quoting on Twitter. There is always possibility, if done right for a Celtics tweet to go viral creating a Twitter moment, or a basketball storm under a self-name genre of Twitter; Basketball Twitter. An example of this recently happened this past Friday, when upcoming Celtics star, Jaylen Brown took a scary fall during the game that caused him to miss the rest of it. Fans were concerned since there has been many injuries this year.
