In 2011, Taco Bell was sued by Beasley Allen, a Alabama law firm (Crandall, Parnell, & Spillan, 2013). The allegation against Taco Bell was filed by a disgruntled customer that complained about the beef content in the tacos. Alleging that the filler was greater than the amount of a beef in a taco (Crandall et al., 2013). According to Crandall et al., (2013), Taco Bell pounced on the opportunity to defend themselves using social media; Taco Bell launched a campaign titled "thank you for suing us". Taco Bell's crisis management team divilged a crisis management plan, Tacogate, using social media to share their side of the story. The company used many national prominent media sources to enlighten the world on its rebuttal.
