The Second Great Awakening started in 1800. Social equality in the new nation all boiled down to religion. “At the start of the Revolution the largest denominations were congregationalists (the 18th-century descendants of Puritan churches), anglicans (known after the Revolution as Episcopalians), and Quakers.” Afterwards, Methodists and Baptists were becoming the fasting-growing religions in the nation and started attempting to democratize religion. In a major minority society, my belief is that it will be imperative for racial justice advocates to adapt within their new climate, and address unique obstacles that may arise, as well as unresolved injustices. I am both African-American and Puerto Rican, both of which are underrepresented in the legal field. Personally,I hope that is no longer the case in Majority minority society, one of the reasons I am pursuing a legal education in order to better equip myself to be a racial justice advocate. Nevertheless the racial justice advocates of the future should form coalitions allies across ethnic groups, socioeconomic classes, and public and private sectors to ensure america has a just society for all races and classes. Furthermore, one can…

We live in a society where you will always be given credit or blamed for one’s action. Each individual leaves a legacy, in their legacy he or she will learn something from experience and take it for a life lesson. Emerson once stated “Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members… the virtue in most request is conformity”. My interpretation of the quote is that society robs us of our identity or individuality. This quote compliments the Novel Scarlet Letter and conspires to the main character to the book.…
