First and foremost, having three allocated forensic social workers appointed to complete all these tasks can be a bit challenging, but feasible, if we can contract certain tasks out to community collaborators and to similar agencies who believe on what we do or have the same goals/mission. As forensic social workers, advocating for more case managers with the administrative team, upper management, and the board of directors would be a possibility, getting involved with community groups to seek further resources/guidance would also be an addition.
Equally important, and as a macro social worker – grant writing, fundraising, and campaigning would be another way to raise the funds needed to change the system and to have a larger positive impact for the prisoners/staff. In addition, networking with the community, churches, and events would allow people interested in volunteering to be a part of the plan.…
