It became very palpable for most American’s to understand that the US of A’s social integrity started on a downward spiral during the scandal known as Watergate. This is known as myth building and is not uncommon throughout the histories. However, what separates the US from the rest of the world is that we actually believe the stories.
The surprising lack of incredulity and avidity is one of the main reasons as to why America is often defined by uncontrolled jingoistic adventurism, blind patriotism and submissive veneration to executive authority in times of national distress. Consequently, these military “adventures” (always started with noble intentions, right?) the US of A is seen by the rest of the world as a bully and a very serious threat to global peace and security.
While frenzied conservatism and paranoia wax and wane as this country progresses through time, what remains sadly unchanging is the fact that the majority of this country has proven an inability to mature or to learn from our mistakes. Take for example the imbecility of repeating the Vietnam War in Iraq and Afghanistan less than four decades later. So long as most Americans continue to live their lives within an illusion or fantasy world of blemished beliefs and outright phony historical myths about their country, they will continue to elect disingenuous and incapable “leaders” who continually exploit the American public’s naiveté and willful stupidity to advance absurd even calamitous agendas for the USA and indeed the rest of the
