Books such as Harry Potter, The Outsiders, or To Kill A Mockingbird are able to convey messages about social inequity in artistic ways, that interest the reader. In To Kill A Mockingbird the author shows how blind judgement about racism can mean the difference between life and death. Readers are then able to see how the ripple effects of social inequity in books, can have devastating effects. Authors like the well known J.K. Rowling can very subtly show how literature can relate to our past. In Harry Potter the villain voldemort can be compared to Hitler, because of his viewpoints on a certain groups of wizards,.
